Emi has been learning a ton of new things lately and I am amazed how much she is now talking.
She is mainly just talking in German, but has picked up several English phrases along the way.
Such as, "that's mine" or "No, Ally, don't do that!" or "I want to do it!" I guess that gives you a glimpse into Emi's world as being the youngest of three girls. She has definitely learned to hold her ground and fight.
Some new developments for Emi are:
- She is doing a ton of role playing with her sisters now
- she can skip
- she can wink
- she is singing very well now (her favorite songs are baa, baa, black sheep, Laternen song, happy birthday song, abc song, and the wheels on the bus)
- she loves nursery rhymes such as five little monkeys jumping on the bed (she gets into it and waves her fingers when you get to the "no more monkeys jumping on the bed part)
- she does not like onions (just like Mia)
- she LOVES broccoli
- she'll choose looking at books over any other activity!
- she LOVES eating Mama's homemade sourdough bread
- she plays with dolls a lot, especially Hank and Hubert
- she has been doing big kid puzzles and loves the challenge
- she thinks that band-aids heal her boo boos
- she finally pooped in the potty for the first time last week and wears underwear at home and stays dry for the most part. The only challenge now is that will wait to do #2 until she is wearing her diaper again for naps or bedtime.
- she is more independent now. She wants to be able to do everything for herself, such as climbing into her car seat by herself, buckling herself up, dressing herself, wiping herself after having gone potty, etc.
- she is taking 2-3 hour naps
- she is wearing 12-18 month clothing
- she weighs 20 lbs.
- she loves being outdoors
- after a bath, when she is wrapped up in a towel, she immediately wants to go to Papa- she is a Papa's girl
- you can pour water on her head and she is pretty tough about it, unlike her sisters!
- she wants to go to school with Mia and Ally
- she still twirls her hair when she gets tired
- she sleeps in a big girl bed and doesn't roll off anymore
- she still has a paci
- she makes sure to inform me every time the dryer or washing machine have finished their cycles (they make a fun tune)
- and has a great sense of humor (tongue and cheek)
Mia and Ally take themselves a little too serious, so Emi's silliness is just the right dose to counter their drama!
Expressive or what?
Book time...
Emi had pneumonia last week. Poor thing. She was keeping to her bed or the couch when awake. I am so glad that she is healthy again and not coughing as much as she was.
Here she is in the waiting room before she had an x-ray of her lungs to see how serious her pneumonia was.
Since Emi pooped in the potty for the first time last week, her reward was a piece of candy. She chose a blue raspberry jolly rancher and this is what happened after consumption:
